Personal Financial Planning Message Board

The purpose of this message board is
to provide free information
(as always, guaranteed to be worth at least twice the cost!) on a
variety of
financial topics. The ground rules are as follows:
- This board is my
hobby, not my business, and I participate as often as I can, but I
cannot promise to answer questions in a prompt manner (or at
all). Family comes first, my practice second, and my hobby
third.
- There is no charge for participation on the board
and, for the time being, registration isn't required.
- I am the sole judge as to whether a posting is
appropriate or not, and will remove any posting that I consider
inappropriate.
- This forum is for the discussion of a variety of
personal financial planning topics, but NOT for the discussion of the
merits or demerits of individual investments.
- Sound financial advice requires a complete
understanding of a person's situation, so the messages posted on this
board should only be treated as general information offered in good
faith and not as specific advice for action.

I will not transact business in any state
unless first
registered there or qualifying for an exclusion or exemption from
registration there. I maintain complete
confidentiality of relationships and information obtained from my
clients, but information posted to this board is viewable by virtually
anyone, and cannot in any way be considered confidential.
- Humor is always welcome on this forum, and you should
be extra careful when I attach a [g] to the end of a sentence, since my
comment may have been made in jest. Hopefully, you will
recognize the difference between serious comments and humor, but I will
not accept responsibility for your inability to do so!
- Andrew Tobias is a dear friend of mine, but is not
associated with this message board, and is not to blame for anything
that is said or not said on this forum (except when he says
it). He is, however, deserving of credit for many of the
wisest financial actions I have taken in my life, and the title of his
most famous book, THE ONLY INVESTMENT GUIDE YOU'LL EVER NEED, is a fine
example of truth in advertising. I strongly encourage you to
check out the daily commentary on his web site at http://www.andrewtobias.com
as long as you totally ignore his political opinions. [g]

subject for discussion, click on NEW TOPIC. Click on ADD
REPLY only if you are responding directly to something said in another
message. Naturally, try to make your subject headers
descriptive so people browsing the forum can quickly locate topics of
interest to read.
